On the Stillers again

Most folks will probably deny this, but I've been on record for a few years saying that although I wish Joe Paterno will never retire, I do have an approved coach that has my all important permission to replace him.

That person is Bill Cowher. I know this is a complete pipe dream, and in fact, I'm only partly convinced myself this is a good idea. However, I can't think of anyone else I think should take over for Joe.

So, the rumors are that Cowher was here talking to PSU's AD. I had actually heard that rumor through the grapevine before it showed up on SI.com or in the Pittsburgh newspapers. I hope it's true.

Bill's got my vote, and as I mentioned, I have lots of pull around here.
